First of all my comments are about "rape" in general. I don't know much about this case beyond what was said in the article (with regard to facts), which I am COMPLETELY prepared to believe thanks to the bullshit nature of our justice system.
And As upset as I am by this glaring and atrocious example of prosecutorial misconduct, I am still firmly of the opinion that a measure of responsibility still rests with these girls, their parents,teachers, and television for all encouraging them to hang out with TOTAL MONSTER ASSHOLES.
News flash girls: There are other ways to lead a happy life than wearing skin tight shorts with "pink" printed across the ass, and landing a sexy successful husband, whom you all, mistakenly I might add, seem to agree will start out a popular frat boy who can play guitar with a great student loan check and an endless supply of pills.
News flash: The chess club, while unable to get you mindlessly high every weekend, is not going to GANG RAPE YOU.
No pity for these girls, none, and I'm so NOT sorry.
I've seen them spit on (in some cases literally) the nice guy WAY too many times to give a shit what happens to them when they pick some degenerate/thug/redneck/dealer/tattoo artist/(take your pick of the cross section of human filth who manage to get more ass than a toilet seat despite being brutal and stupid) who constantly lies to them lies, gets caught, has a fight over it, and then gets makeup sex.
All that said, this is clearly a miscarriage of justice, but then again, so is the drug war and the countless male rape victims that result from it. .
Most rape victims are male, and until I see this fact on TV and in the blogosphere a little more not presented as the punchline to a soap joke, I frankly don't care. Fix that bullshit and then I'll care about little Tiffany getting raped after safely week after week, year after year, sucking up enough free booze and drugs to be INCAPACITATED, while wearing the mid summer equivalent of a french maid outfit to a building with a male to female ration of 5 to 1, looking to auction her ass off to the highest bidder rather than develop some skills of her own, only to have the crowd on that thousandth party, just take what they could never afford.
Women have selected violent assholes to be husbands, boyfriends, and more importantly fathers, for generations. Reap the whirlwind ladies. You make us fight and then pick the winners, what do you expect? Who's gunna win in a fight between Gandhi and 50 Cent? You've selected for violence and brutal arrogant stupidity and deception long after you had a choice to take the high road. It's not the ice ages you don't need a cave man.
Learn to share, and quit choosing who you hang with by mean income, drug availability, hours per week spent working out, and how willing they are to lie to your face about "love" and this problem will solve itself. If a guy wants you all to himself, tell him then he can stay by himself and find another. Men can't make this play, men must be chosen, but its VERY easy for a pretty girl to make this demand. Most guys if they are secure and honest will jump at the chance.
I personally would rather have a deep and meaningful friendship with a young woman who fucks me and others safely as she sees fit who is completely honest about it, than a woman who does the same thing and lies about it out of some medieval sense of honor.
